Action Pack for High Streets

March 25, 2015 by Paul Leave a Comment

A new action pack has been published containing short, simple guides and videos aimed at retailers and communities looking to kick start their local high streets and town centres. The guides are short, jargon-free and packed full of ideas to get you going.

The pack grew out of a series of workshops for people wanting to improve their high streets organised by the Department for Communities and Local Government working with sector experts and a local retailer. [Source: The Great British High Street web site]

Civic Activism Toolkit – Building for Change Trust

February 26, 2015 by Paul Leave a Comment

The Civic Activism Toolkit has been developed by the Building for Change Trust and partners. Its purpose is to support the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) in Northern Ireland ‘to reconnect with citizens, and facilitate their engagement in decision-making through experimenting with innovative and creative civic activism tools and approaches’.

It it a fascinating resource, with information about a wide range of tools in use around the world. So, although written for use in Northern Ireland, it is likely to be of much wider interest. You can find the toolkit at www.civicativism.buildingchangetrust.org
