From April last year to the end of January, burglaries in Abbey Ward were down 37 per cent on the previous year, an equivalent reduction of 44 offences. Inspector Coates who has been working in Abbey Ward for the last three years, says the success is thanks to policing schemes and community action. He credits organisations such as the Tower Action Group, set up by residents who were fed up of anti-social behaviour in the area. Click here for more information.
